Threat Modelling

Threat modelling is a process to identify possible threats to a system with the view to develop countermeasures. By using various threat modelling strategies we can review an organisation to build up a picture of possible threats to either an application or an entire organisation.

Threat modelling helps you:

  • Understand the possible attack surface of the application or organisation
  • Understand the exposure of your attack surface based on their entry points and data flows and the risk as a result to the organisation
  • Identify where security controls should be inplace to protect your organisation
  • Identify where security controls are missing
  • Understand the risk associated with any missing controls
  • Provide executive level findings to the business and help them make business risk driven decisions

Threat modelling allows organisations to determine the correct controls and to produce effective countermeasures within budget.
